The Nell is known as a boozy little pub so we designed our bar food to reflect that. Our toasties are hot, filling and incredibly cheesy but most importantly. You don’t have to put your beer down to eat one!!! Simple but perfect, we usually do two classic flavours Ham, for the beer drinkers or Tomato, for the wine drinkers. On special occasions we branch out and experiment with our guest toasties, much to the regulars dismay and serve up Chorizo, Olive Tapenade and Rocket or Turkey and Stilton at Christmas. If you prefer something more crumbly we also serve piping hot Sausage Rolls or our giant Scotch Eggs with lashings of hot English mustard. Our crisp and nut range is also extensive with changing flavours fortnightly (whatever the crisp man has in his van!!). Mini Cheddars have made a welcome return and Pickled Onion Monster Munch are always a surprise favourite that go really well with our Salami’s and Chilli Jerky.
Two popular events in the Nell Gwynne calendar are our Pickled Egg eating competition from the 19th to the 31st of March and our cracker eating challenge throughout September, both draw punters from around the country. (believe it or not, that is true!!!!)
